The Avalon T Digital Video Recorder (DVR) is a 4, 8 or 16 camera recorder with built-in hard drive(s) providing up to a potential of 4TB of recorded data. Each camera can be individually set up, for example, the Images Per Second (IPS) can be set from 1 to 25 IPS for each camera. The Avalon T has a total image rate of 200 IPS (Cif) and uses the MPEG4 video compression protocol for video storage and transmission. Various recording options are available such as Continuous, Motion, Alarm activation etc. On-screen Icons and Menus, in conjunction with an attached PC mouse, make this DVR easy to use and fairly intuitive for everyday options, i.e. Playback, Copying, Screen Layouts etc.
The output display can also be configured to provide a number of different viewing options such as, Single screen, 4, 9 or 16-way split screen or Picture in Picture. It can be networked to provide local and remote Internet access by either using dedicated software or via an Internet Explorer web browser (also compatible on Apple Mac OSX if running Parallels software). The Avalon T uses embedded Linux as its underlying Operating System and thus provides a high level of internal security. All recorded footage is Watermarked to avoid any suggestion that CCTV data has been tampered with. Copying of recorded footage can be achieved on the DVR using either a USB 2.0 or DVD writer to export the data. Footage can also be copied directly to a computer if connected via the local or Internet network. Alarm inputs allow for external sensors to feed into the Avalon T and connection to an external Alarm Monitoring Station is possible for a professional monitored service. Email alerts can also be sent out for situations which include: Sensor alarm activation, camera video loss, hard drive problems etc.
